Youth Video and Photography Programs
From basic point and shoot cameras to professional level dslr photography, youth have the opportunity to learn photo composition and technical camera controls to develop their photography skills. Using point and shoot cameras, students explore how to incorporate basic design principles in their images and to take advantage of various pre-programmed camera controls to find a unique way of seeing the world through the lens.
As students advance from more basic levels to intermediate and advanced courses, they explore the unique ability of the camera to capture the “unseen” using controls of depth of field, shutter speed and specific camera movements. Subjects range from landscape, portrait and close up to studio lighting setups for commercial product and model photography.
While developing their photo skills, youth will visit locations around the Playa Sámara community which provide a unique opportunity to explore and document a diverse natural ecosystem as well as an international community rich in culture and tradition.
